Job Description
Job Purpose:
Oversee end‑to‑end credit risk management for all digital loan products by governing digital underwriting models, scorecards, and decision engines to ensure sound credit decisions aligned with the approved risk appetite.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in Digital Lending, Credit Management, Product Management, or related financial services functions.

Proven experience in managing digital lending products, credit processes, and customer lending journeys.

Sound understanding of credit risk assessment, loan origination, underwriting scorecards, decision engines, and portfolio monitoring to support effective credit decision-making.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate actionable insights, and utilize structured credit calculators and lending models to support credit assessment and decision-making.

Experience in product development and implementation of digital initiatives, with proven ability to support the design, enhancement, and delivery of innovative digital lending solutions.

Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage high workloads and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in developing, implementing, and managing digital financial products and services.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess risks beyond numerical analysis.
Key Responsibilities

Analyse digital loan platforms using automated scorecards, rules engines, and credit systems, review applications flagged for manual checks, exceptions, or overrides.

Validate customer information, income data, and supporting documentation, review credit applications with a focus on risk assessment, including income, financial position, market factors, and repayment ability (cash flow), for those requiring manual interventions and exceptions.

Apply credit policies and underwriting rules to digital platforms; ensure compliance with the Bank’s credit policies and procedures.

Monitor daily portfolio performance, including approvals, declines, arrears, early warning signals, and ensure timely repayment collection of digital products.

Identify fraud indicators, unusual application patterns, and emerging credit risks; track overrides, exceptions, and model efficiency.

Prepare credit reports and dashboards for management review; monitor deviation to credit policy for all automated products.

Support periodic portfolio reviews, audits, and regulatory inspections; respond promptly to inspection findings, queries, and reports; review inspection reports regularly and identify key risk trends and mitigate accordingly.

Work with IT, Analytics, Operations, and Business teams to improve digital lending processes; evaluate proposals for partnerships with external stakeholders.

Ensure accurate documentation and proper record-keeping for all credit decisions; maintain the defined bank’s customer service standards.

Review and assess requests for loan rescheduling or refinancing and curing; structure loan facilities based on risk analysis and present them for approval according to the Bank’s approval authority levels.

Regular review of credit calculators and pre-qualification eligibility in digital platforms; review and update of the Credit Policy and Credit Operating Manual.

Support branches by transmitting knowledge on credit policies and procedures related to digital lending; train and mentor junior staff to align their performance with business objectives.

Keep up to date with legal, market, risk, and regulatory compliance issues affecting consumer credit.

Ensure timely repayment collection of digital products and monitor daily portfolio performance, including approvals, declines, arrears, and early warning signals.
